Colas are specialist suppliers of bonded surfacing and aggregates to the construction industry and to specifiers.
Challenge
Colas were producing large numbers of case study PDFs and other promotional marketing materials, and were looking for a more cost effective way of promoting themselves to customers and prospects. They wanted the flexibility to be able to make changes in-house, without incurring additional design cost.
Solution
Digi-products developed a digital marketing system customised to Colas which included their own branded templates which sales staff without design expertise could use as the basis for dynamically generating from a database their own electronic marketing material for e-mail to prospects. The Digi-products system also provided the capability to offer promotional materials in a range of different formats, embedded in the email, to suit the sales situation or preferred style of the recipient. As with all Digi-products systems, e-mail alerts provide intelligence back to the sales teams, by indicating exactly the moment when the prospect is interacting with Colas content and is therefore hot for follow up.
Benefits
The Digi-products system is now used by Colas´ customer facing and business development teams to create marketing materials within a consistent brand, and importantly without the need for external design expertise. This new way of working has resulted in considerably cost savings for Colas, as they no longer have to commission a design agency every time they want to make a change, as well as a considerable improvement in the efficacy of the sales staff.
