Mercure Hotels in the UK have commissioned a custom Digi system to support their Meetings and Events business at each hotel.
The system will provide a comprehensive tool to manage and develop enquiries, marketing through a data base plus one-to-one and bulk emailing for hotels to market to customers and prospects.
The team at Digi worked with Mercure to develop a product that meets all their needs and it is now in roll out phase accross the group.

We constantly improve Digi and we don't charge for updates so any new features we add are FOC.
They just get added and because Digi is cloud-based they appear immediately.
So people keep coming back and even those that don't renew, many return to the Digi fold at a later date.

It's all about clickthrough, clickthrough, nothing but clickthrough.
Good call yesterday from a customer who achieved an 18% clickthrough on a bulk email.
it was about a new manufacturing process they have using new technology.
They were amazed as a typical business is 1% to 1.5%.
Of course the rate will depend on the message and the content but also how it is presented. As Digi emails are presented always opening fully first time, with all embedded images showing and with clear places to click through, it keeps people interested and for longer.
They also had about 60 out of office replies because of the time of year and when those people are back the clickthrough rate will be even higher.
They were really pleased and so were we.

We've found buying email data from virtually any source is nearly always a complete waste of time - unless someone can prove us wrong.
The people who appear on these lists have been emailed, emailed again and then again.
They have probably tried to unsubscribe from everything, they know what a spam email is and the reality is that they just don't want to receive you email, however nice it may be.
No matter what promises the data vendor gives you, always try and get a sample from them first.
Recently a Digi customer did a mailing to a bought-in list that resulted in six complaints about spam. These were progressed all the way up to nearly getting the Digi server blocked.
So if you're thinking about buying email data? - just don't bother.

It's the simplest thing in the world but its amazing how a phone call to someone you haven't spoken to for ages can throw up possibilities.
Recently made a call to someone we know but haven't spoken to for ages since he was at Harley Davidson. Peter Sylvester is now a very successful networking entrepreneur.
We've agreed to meet up and he thinks he has potential for Digi to help in a number of things.

We've decided to add back something that we did many years ago with Digi.
It will allow our customers to create digital surveys and we're going to add it in over the next couple of weeks.
Going to be a cost option for existing customers but included for new customers.
Using Digi-survey people can create short snappy surveys with up to 20 open and 20 closed questions.
Great for polling anyone about anything, maybe before a meeting or to get feedback on something.
Going to be very easy to use and be typically Digi survey in how it works, sent out by Digi email with embedded images and links to see the results online and view who said what.
Seems like a sensible fit with the rest of the Digi tools and we're looking forward to making it available.
